My drumming career started at the age of 12, when I began lessons in Junior High. For over forty years, I have been in love with drums and drumming and have been lucky enough to have taught others the language of drums.
My early beginnings include playing in several drum and bugle corps on Long Island and being selected to the New York All-State Band in my senior year of high school.
I studied with the late Al Miller on Long Island for three years. Al was my most influential teacher and a tremendous resource for many other players like Tom Brechtlein, Rod Morgenstein, Dom Famularo and numerous other great drummers. Al focused me on more intense reading, big band playing, drum set independence and a variety of drumming skills. Al also was a very good friend of Buddy Rich. Al passed away in 2000 and I continue to be inspired by Al in every lesson.
I was an U. S. Air Force musician for four years and gained invaluable experience playing in a multitude of musical settings.
I have taught drums in the Hockessin area for the past 20 years and have performed with small groups and orchestra's in the surrounding area.
