I visited Cuba from June 20 - July 4, 2010. The purpose of the trip was to research Cuban music and culture. While in Havana and Matanzas I performed many types of research, from meetings with world recognized professors such as Dr. Olavo Alén Rodriguez to investigating the relationships between drumming and religion. I met with famous and very approachable rumberos from both Havana and Matanzas. I also participated in religious ceremonies and rumbas in Havana.
